Understanding and Using the Privacy Mode in the eufy Security App

Modified on: Wed, 10 Dec, 2025 at 11:25 AM

In the eufy Security app, there's a feature called Privacy mode that is available for certain cameras. This feature is designed to provide you with an added layer of privacy when you need it.

When Privacy mode is enabled, the camera turns to face the wall and remains off. This means there will be no recording or live streaming until the mode is disabled. This can be particularly useful in situations where you want to ensure privacy, such as during family gatherings or when you're home alone.

You can enable Privacy mode in the following two ways:

1. Manually enable it on the main device interface in the eufy Security app.

2. Set a schedule in the camera's Security mode. This allows you to automatically activate Privacy mode during certain times of the day or week.

Understanding and using Privacy mode can help you better manage your home security and privacy. With the eufy Security app, you have full control over when and how your cameras operate, giving you peace of mind and flexibility.
